Toyota Introduces the Prius V

Toyota has expanded the Prius family by introducing the Prius v. The Prius v offers excellent cargo space without compromising on the great fuel efficiency. The Prius is designed for growing, active families that want a midsize vehicle that still has great fuel efficiency. The Prius v delivers an estimated EPA fuel economy rating of 44 mpg city and 40 mpg highway. Toyota Division Group Vice President and General Manager Bob Carter explains the highlights of the Prius v, "The Prius v brings leading-edge hybrid technology to customers who need more room and provides more cargo space than 80 percent of all small SUVs. And because it's a Prius, it produces 66 percent fewer smog-forming emissions than the average new vehicle and will have the best mileage ratings of any SUV, crossover, or wagon sold in America. We think that's a win-win for everybody."

The Prius v is flexible and spacious with comfortable interior space that increases visibility with a high seating position, plenty of head room, and generous leg room. The rear hatch has 34.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. The Prius v can comfortably seat up to five people and is very versatile. The second row seats slide to allow for rear-storage flexibility and have a 45-degree recline for more comfort. The 60/40 split, folding rear seats allow for up to four different seat arrangements. The front-passenger seat also folds flat to allow for extremely long cargo. The Prius v also has a Push Button Start, drive-by-wire shift toggle, parking switch, and driving mode buttons. The center console can hold up to 23 CD cases and is low enough to allow for natural conversation between passengers. There are a variety of storage spaces within the car such as dual glove boxes, a center console utility tray, five cup holders, and bottle holders in the front and rear door pockets. Toyota also included its new SofTex seat material that is made for easy cleaning, resisting spills, and is soft to the touch. It is also weather and stain resistant.

The Prius v is also loaded with technology features for convenience and entertainment. Some features include a Bluetooth wireless connection for compatible hands-free phone calls, USB port that plays music and videos from portable audio devices, an in-dash display screen, and full iPod integration. The screen is 6.1 inches and includes six speakers. The screen shows the energy monitor and fuel consumption data, the back-up camera, and the Display Audio System.

The Prius v provides a nice option for active families that need versatile space and a car with great fuel economy. With an estimated EPA fuel economy rating of 44 mpg city and 40 mpg highway and versatile cargo space, the Prius v stands out among midsize vehicles.
